Hey Jordan McIntyre, hey dad. You should say hey, greg McIntyre, so you're looking good in your blue suit today, thanks, yeah, you're all blue. I'm almost there. That's my color. You got the blue shirt, I got the white shirt. It's the firm colors too. It is, it is Um. So you've been an attorney for two weeks now.
Speaker 2:Two weeks.
Speaker 1:Yes, been drafting a lot of legal documents for cases.
Speaker 2:Yes, every day, and I have to meet my billable hours goal.
Speaker 1:You have a case coming up that you're handling this Tuesday, tomorrow tomorrow, first case, first time in court, yes, as the attorney okay, and then you have a case you went and you were shadowing Brenton and a guardianship case today.
Speaker 2:I did go to a guardianship hearing today still going through all your training yes and you've been an attorney for two weeks.
Speaker 1:The day that you were sworn in, you went to the hospital that night yes, small interruption and then we did an elder law report from the hospital, because I had to do one anyway and I wanted to come by and see you yes, thank you yeah, on elder law update on thursday. You know, a couple thursdays ago, but you got past that I did.
Speaker 2:You're off your antibiotics now off the antibiotics and you save the leg, my leg's, good, I've been working out.
Speaker 1:Big shout out to the medical community in Charlotte. Thank you so much. Atrium Health Atrium. Health Mercy, mercy did a great job for him and got you back healthy, or at least to the point to now. You're tired and worn out, probably from the antibiotics and the infection.
Speaker 2:It's okay, though I still have a leg Getting your energy back up.
Speaker 1:Yes, okay, good, I'm glad you're back. Thanks, tell us about your first couple weeks as an attorney. What can someone expect going to law school? Coming out as their first couple weeks as an attorney, what do you?
Speaker 2:think I think, because I've had experience here, I know what to expect. But there's still a lot of unknowns. There's something new every day and I think you just have to get used to that. You have to be organized, plan out everything and make sure that you're on top of all your drafting. You're good with clients, but I've had experience here. I feel good about that. You know I think I can do this. I know I can do this.
Speaker 1:Also when your dad's in the firm, like that's a benefit because I'm looking out for you and worried about you but also really care. You know a lot about you. I care about all our attorneys but you know not all of my attorneys. The rest of our attorneys aren't my children, you know. But you know I can look out but also maybe I've got you know I don't. I don't want to do that too much where where I'm, you know, stepping on your toes, or too much in your business.
Speaker 2:But I think, I think the thing.
Speaker 1:The thing for a young attorney when they start out is they don't know where all the pitfalls are and the mistakes, and there's so many in this profession, so it's just just maybe they're out. Hey, did you think about this, this, this, this and this? And have you done this, this, this and this to prepare for whatever it is that you might not see coming right when you're going into something?
Speaker 2:I'm not afraid, though.
Speaker 1:Well, you can't be afraid. I mean, you know fear is an illusion, right, it's not real. But as long as you prepare, you know, you've been to many hearings with other people and seen that happen. This is going to be a chance for you tomorrow to step out on your own and knock this out of the park. Okay, yeah.
Speaker 1:And I know you will. I can't wait to hear about the success of tomorrow, and no matter which way it goes, you don't win the first time. You can always appeal right, that's true. We're gonna win, though I know. I believe that, so I'm glad you're here.
Speaker 2:I'm glad you're, healthy looking, good looking sharp yeah, peace.
